OUR OPTICIANS
GEOFFREY PEACOCK
Geoffrey Peacock is our principal optometrist, having joined the practice in 1986. He originally worked with Mr Brown and carried on the development of his career with the practice. The practice has always encouraged its staff to develop their skills, and consequently Mr Peacock passed a number of certificated courses in different aspects of eye care. Mr Peacock is particularly enthusiastic about the developments in eye examination instrumentation, so that eye examinations can be much more thorough and in depth than in the past. In his leisure time Geoff takes a keen interest in rugby and has been to many matches home and away.
SAREENA PARMAR
Sareena graduated with a Bachelor of Optometry degree in 2016 and has been a full time Optometrist at F G Brown since 2018. She provides a comprehensive range of eye care services, including detailed eye examinations and contact lens assessments. Passionate about delivering high quality patient care, Sareena is committed to continually developing her clinical expertise. In 2024, she qualified as an Independent Prescriber, further enhancing her ability to manage a wide range of eye conditions. Soon to be a first time mother, Sareena will be going on maternity leave from May 2026. We are delighted to support her during this exciting time and look forward to welcoming her back to the practice next year.
DARREL GODDARD
Darrel Goddard also joined the practice in 1986, training and qualifying as a professionally qualified dispensing optician in 1990. You can be sure that any spectacles purchased from our practice will be appropriate and fit for purpose and will fit comfortably and securely under Mr Goddard’s supervision. He is responsible for the continuing updated spectacle lenses and frames that the practice holds and is your point of contact if you have any particular lens or frame requirements. Outside work Darrel enjoys all things sport. He is an avid Ipswich Town supporter and is also a qualified County football referee.
OONAGH BOOTH
Oonagh graduated from Bradford University in 1991 with her Bachelor of Optometry degree. She has worked for FG Brown opticians since 2009 as an optometrist and has over 30 years experience. She has completed an additional diploma in OCT interpretation and has a keen interest in visual stress and colorimetry testing. In her leisure time Oonagh loves being outside, going for scenic walks and getting stuck into a good book.
OUR OPTICAL ASSISTANTS
AMY
Amy started working at F G Brown in July 2021. She is now developing her skills and is a motivated apprentice working towards her Dispensing Optician qualification. This role combines being hands on developing her practical skills alongside studying the theory and science behind optics, vision correction and eyewear design. In her spare time she enjoys walks in the countryside with her two dogs; Benji and Coco alongside spending time with her family.
SARAH
Sarah joined the practice in January 2015 as an optical assistant. She enjoys the clinical aspect of the role, carrying out the OCT scans and Optomap imaging. This stems from her previous background in healthcare. Outside of work Sarah has a passion for horse riding, having started from a young age. She also enjoys taking her dog Fynn on long walks around the local countryside.
JEMIMA
Jemima has been with the practice since May 2015. She particularly enjoys supporting new contact lens wearers, building patient’s confidence through initial training. In addition, assists with delivering care to patients suffering from dry eye conditions. Outside work Jemima has a keen interest in travel and also a passion for baking, especially decorative birthday cakes!
NICOLA
Nicola has worked at F G Brown Opticians since 2004 as an optical assistant. She specialises in colorimetry testing and is responsible for many administrative duties, playing a key role supporting clinical staff with referrals and Doctors letters. Nicola has a passion for animals, especially tigers. In her spare time she enjoys visiting zoos and beautiful National Trust places.
EVIE
Our newest member of the team, Evie started in August 2025. She quickly found her rhythm and stepped into the role seamlessly. Evie especially likes helping patients find spectacle frames to suit their personality and lifestyles. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring different cuisines and discovering new holiday destinations.
